THE PROJECT
The acronym MO.S.E. stands for Experimental Electromechanical Module, in Italian Modulo Sperimentale Elettromeccanico. People have been talking about MO.S.E. for years: an integrated defense system consisting of rows of mobile gates to isolate the Venetian Lagoon from the Adriatic Sea during high tides above 110 cm and protect the city and its artistic heritage.
GENERAL FLUIDI'S INVOLVMENT
General Fluidi is involved in designing and realizing an essential element for the MO.S.E.: it is the system to activate the anchoring device between the gate and the corresponding caisson. A sophisticated oleodynamic device allowing gates to move from caissons where they rest when not functioning.
